Deep fryer fries are so crispy that you’ll fool yourself into thinking you’ve opened a fresh bag. With a small amount of oil and full flavor, you won’t feel guilty about enjoying a bowl (or two).
INGREDIENTS
4 medium yellow potatoes
1 tablespoon of oil
Salt to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- Slice the potatoes into thin slices using a mandolin or a sharp knife. Put the potatoes in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes from the water using a colander. Dry well with paper towels. The more moisture you remove, the more fragile it will be.
- Season the potatoes with sea salt and olive oil. Place two layers of potatoes in an air fryer and bake at 200°F for 20 minutes.
- Add the French fries. Increase the heat to 400°F and cook for another 5 minutes.
